Research students

I’ve had the good fortune to work with some brilliant PhD students.

Cathleen O’Grady studies human mindreading: the ability to infer what others can and cannot see, what they do and do not know, and so on. She also does science journalism.

Carmen Granito studies the cultural evolution of art, and in particular the impact that group size and intercultural contact have on art style.

Rachael Bailes completed her PhD in 2017, on evolution, pragmatics, and psycholinguistics. She is now Teaching Fellow in Linguistics at Newcastle University.

Ellie Donnelly will soon begin her PhD on developmental and comparative perspectives on human communication.
